State police investigate 'white supremacist' group graffiti incident on Waterbury Dam

Vermont State Police are investigating what they call an incident of "hate group" graffiti in Waterbury.

According to police, the side of the Waterbury Dam was vandalized by the Patriot Front, which they charaterized as ''a white supremacist hate group."

The graffiti was applied by stencil which probably allowed the vandal to leave the area quickly. There are no known witnesses or suspects at this time.

The graffiti was discovered by a dam worker on the east side of the dam — an area with low visibility to the public or from the water.

It was reported to state police barracks in Middlesex on Wednesday, July 1. The Vermont Agency of Natural Resources removed the graffiti that afternoon.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Vermont State Police in Middlesex at 802-229-9191.
